A Prism has three faces to it, just like the Prism concert. The annual Prism concert consists of a performance by WBHS band, orchestra, and choir students. Each element gets to perform, making the concert three-sided.

The concert began with the WBHS marching band performing their competition piece “Glass Half Full,” followed by a brief introduction. The Concert String Orchestra and Concert Choir then both performed successively. Following the Concert Orchestra and Concert Choir, the String Quartet including Robert Sylvester, Kevin Chen, Zain Abdun-Noor, and Taylor Koppela-Frangedakis performed. Then, the Concert Band and Chorale Choir performed.

The Prism concert was a great beginning for the year, according to Symphony Orchestra member Anna Bai.  “I am looking forward to the rest of the year, especially [their] future performances,” said Bai.

After the Chorale choir, the Concert and Symphony Bands performed together, with a solo performance by the Symphony Band.

Choir soloists included Sophie Canella singing “No One Else” and Alex Beaty during the finale. Conducted by Linda Trotter, the Chorale & Concert Choir, along with the Concert Band and Concert Orchestra, played Richard Roger’s “Abridged Medley.”

The Symphonic Winds, Chamber Choir, and Symphonic String Orchestra performed, followed by Laker Express and Ensemble.

“It was really nice to be able to see all of our hard work come to life at the concert,” said Laker Express member Durga Shanker.  Shanker loved being at the concert, and she is looking forward to the next performance.

The finale was performed by the Chamber Choir, Laker Express, and the Symphony Orchestra.

 “My favorite part about PRISM was when Chamber Choir and Laker Express joined on stage with the band and orchestra for the finale,” said Chamber Choir member Sydney Morrow, because she loves when the choirs sing together.
