The Dubliner Spirit
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! To celebrate St. Patrick’s day at West Bloomfield High School, the Theater Department sold “Dubliners” before school, and will sell again after school today, Friday March 17th, 2017. Dubliners are being sold for $2 at the box office. Mr. Watson supported the fundraiser by paying for the first 20 students in line!
You may ask “what’s a Dubliner”? A Dubliner is a delicious mixture of coffee and hot chocolate, made by the Theater Department. With your Dubliner, you can put additional toppings such as whipped cream, chocolate, sprinkles, or ice cream.
Dubliners originated in Ireland, and the Theater Department wanted to have a unique fundraiser to draw in a lot of money for this year’s spring play, “Shrek the Musical.” “My favorite part about Dubliners is seeing how excited people get with drinking them, because Dubliners are a nice mix from your typical Starbucks drink,” says WBHS theatre member Jordan Robinson.
Your donation will support the student journalists of West Bloomfield High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.
