The Breslin bound Lakers blew past the Troy Colts in the quarterfinals at the University of Detroit Mercy’s Calihan Hall in Detroit. West Bloomfield made their way to the playoffs with an adequate 12-8 record to go along with a stunning buzzer beater against Novi to win 67-66 to make it to the Class A Finals. The Lakers showed only dominance as they battled their way to the final four. Kevin McAdoo (12) ended the first quarter beating the buzzer, and then again to end the half. After halftime, the Lakers exploded with an unparalleled offensive momentum to propel them to a 20-2 run in the beginning of the third quarter.  

The third quarter has been a struggle for the Lakers. The past few games have been close due to this 8 minute run. This game was different. The boys were able to outscore Troy 20-2 in the third quarter keeping a strong lead.

Tyler Davis (12) took charge at the 3-point line, scoring 17 total points. Tre Harvey (11) scored 16, with some 3-pointers. Garrett Winn (12) showed off his dunking skills and solid defense. In the end, the Lakers not only showed off their potential, but grew some confidence going into their final four game. Kevin McAdoo (12) also showed continued dominance as he led the team with an impressive 23 points which included three from beyond the three-point line and perfection from the free-throw line. The final score was 80-43 and the Lakers will not go take on the Clarkston Wolves in East Lansing on Friday at 1 pm. This is the first time the Lakers have made it to the state championship semi-finals since 2003

This game is going to be exciting for the players and the students. Principal Mr. Watson and Athletics Director Mr. Pierce are allowing students to have a half day and attend the game to support their fellow classmates. Buses can be taken for a low price and other students will be inclined to make it a trip! Tickets are for sale for $8.
