Can WB Students Be “Just Friends”?
The results are in!
Guys. Girls. Two completely different beings… but can they be friends? For some, it’s easy. But for others, problems can arise. Spectrum took to the cafeteria to conduct an anonymous survey to see once and for all if WBHS students can truly be “just friends.”
66 students were surveyed during A-lunch if it was possible to be “just friends” with someone of the opposite sex.
A total of 41 out of the 66 students said “yes,” it is possible; the remaining 25 said “no,” or that it “depends” on the situation.
62% of the guys said “yes,” it is possible; and 38% of the boys said “no,” it is not possible, or it “depends” on the situation (common answer for the boys).
Similarly, 62.5% of the girls said “yes,” it is possible; and 37.5% of the girls said “no,” it is not possible.
Interestingly, several students said that in high school, it is easy and quite common to be “just friends,” but suggested that that ideology may change come college. So while gender doesn’t appear to make a difference in opinion, age might.
Do you agree with the survey results? Is it possible for guys and girls to be just friends? Voice your opinion in the comments below!
