WBHS Varsity Girl’s Swim finishes the season strong
After the League Championship preliminary meet and finals, four of West Bloomfield High School’s girl’s swimmers qualified for Michigan’s state meet. On November 17 and 18, Peyton Plyer, Taylor Christensen, Ava Barnthouse, and Mattie Smith competed in the meet. While none of them placed in the top 20 of all swimmers, they all gave their best efforts. “Although we may not have gotten our best times, we all swam our hearts out and had fun while doing it,” said senior Ava Barnthouse. Even though this was not their best meet, everyone was happy with the way the season ended.
Despite not having won any meets due to having a small team, individually, each swimmer improved over the course of the season. Top swimmers continuously placed high in meets, and Junior Varsity swimmers can look forward to a better season next year.
Congratulations to the 2017 West Bloomfield Girl’s Swim and Dive team for a hardworking season. Everyone worked their hardest and left everything they had in the pool at every meet. Girl’s Varsity Swim coach Kwame Wardlaw will push his team even further next season.
