WBHS Theatre prepares for spring musical
It’s almost showtime! This year’s spring show at West Bloomfield High School is Hairspray. Auditions were held on Wednesday, February 26 and Thursday, February 27 in the choir room and in the orchestra room. Some students had been anxious for the day to come and and others were pleased to be showing off their talent.
“We sang a couple measures of the most well known songs from the show and that went fairly well. Then we did dance auditions where they taught us some of the dance for the chorus. It was well organized,” said freshman, Savannah Dodson.
The auditions were exciting for students and they couldn’t wait to begin as soon as possible.
“As soon as I got the application, I filled it out as soon as I could and I gave it to my parents so they could sign it. It was awesome! I wanted to be chorus and I practised every day for the audition. It was so fun, especially the dancing part, it was really easy to do, you just need to stay focused and keep going. One of the reasons I wanted to be a part of this, is because it’s time to put ourselves out there so people know who we are. It’s fun to act, so why not?” said sophomore Udo Agomuoh.
The cast list was posted outside the forum on Thursday, March 1 and the students and staff have been working to put this show together ever since. The debut of this show will be April 26-28 in the auditorium.
