For the members of the Pawsitive Effects club, speaking up about animal cruelties and ensuring animal rights are something they really fight for.
Riya Bagri, president and founder of the Pawsitive Effects club stated, “Pawsitive Effects is a 501(c) (3) Nonprofit which is all about making a difference for animals in need. We focus on raising awareness about animal cruelty, organizing fundraisers, and supporting local humane societies and organizations.”
Gabe Hiruedhay, co-president and founder of the club added, “Some of the organizations we support include, ASPCA, Premier Pet Supply, Michigan Humane Society, Humane Society of Huron Valley, Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit, The Grey Muzzle Organization, and more. Our mission is to create a community that works together to improve the lives of animals.”
This club is all about the support of animal rights and are happy to create a fun, collaborative, and inviting experience for new members.“If you’re passionate about animals and want to make a meaningful impact, this is the perfect club for you! Not only will you help improve the lives of animals, but you’ll also meet like-minded people, develop leadership skills, and be part of a supportive and compassionate community. Plus, you’ll have a lot of fun with our members along the way!” Bagri enthused.
So far, Pawsitive Effects club has raised $2,000 for animals in need and knowing that their efforts are making a difference is all the motivation they need. “Leading the club is incredibly rewarding because I get to see the passion and creativity of our members first hand. It’s amazing to work with people who share a love for animals and want to make a real difference. Participating in the club is great because every small effort, whether it’s brainstorming ideas, setting up events, or donating, contributes to a bigger cause.“
Last week on New Years Eve, Pawsitive Effects hosted a hot yoga fundraiser! They handed out bandanas and dog treats and the money they received went to rescued and abused dogs through the Michigan Humane Society. “Members at the yoga studio donated food, toys, blankets, and money. It was heartwarming to see so many people come together to support our mission.” Bagri explained.
Being part of a group of people who are so dedicated to helping give support to animals and stopping animal cruelty is such a powerful experience. But, don’t feel that you need tons of animal or research knowledge to join. ”People might not realize how creative our events and team bonding sessions are! It’s not just about fundraising, our members come up with unique activities like pet treat making, and DIY bandana making. These fun moments are an integral part of how the club runs.”
