‘Save the earth!’ is a phrase constantly thrown around, but are people actually doing anything to help? Earth Club is, and they take this phrase to heart.
One of the presidents of Earth Club, Jordan Dyment stated, “Earth Club is all about teen advocacy and making a change in our local community! From sustainability initiatives and fundraisers at the school, to community cleanups on the WB campus, it’s a great way to get involved and support the wellbeing of our community.”

Earth club not only benefits the earth and our community, but you yourself if you join. You get a beautiful sense of fulfillment out of doing something good for others.
“For me, the best part of being in Earth Club is how rewarding it feels. Earth Club has given me the opportunity to directly give back to the West Bloomfield community in a way that is becoming more and more critical every day.” Dyment explained.

Even if the environment’s wellbeing hasn’t been something you’ve been interested in before, Earth Club has a place for you. There are opportunities to learn and hangout with new friends at the same time.
Dyment said,“Students should join Earth Club because of how versatile it is! Even if you’re not directly interested in the environment, there’s something for you! We’ve of course given students the opportunity to learn more about sustainability and the earth, but also community initiatives, local legislation affecting us, engineering, crafts & art, and so much more.”

Joining Earth Club is also a great way to get involved in projects and activities just in our school.“I think people would be most surprised to hear that we’ve had club members who’ve had the opportunity to speak at a MI statewide climate conference! We also were the group that established the solar panels for the football field and building at WBHS.”
If this sounds in any way interesting to you, definitely stop by at their next meeting and have an experience you won’t regret! “Earth Clubs meets in room 200! Anyone interested please join our remind @litgar, or feel free to contact one of our presidents (Jordan Dyment & Kayden Smith) or our sponsor (Ms. Tianen)!” Dyment enthused.
