A lot of students at WB might be wanting to connect with like-minded peers to discuss their faith.
No matter if they are Christian and rooted in faith or just exploring, they are welcome to do so in the new club at WB, Faith in Action
This club is led by juniors, Amarina Kriko and Marely Barba and has just started this May.
“We are dedicated to bringing people together through our shared love for Jesus Christ. Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can openly embrace, explore, and strengthen their faith, regardless of their background.” Explained Kriko.
Kriko and Barba have many new ideas for how they want the club to go and what activities or after school events will center around the club.
Kriko said “We want to start off with devotional prayers and scripture readings twice a week in the morning. We will also have after school meetings for presentations on books in the Bible or a lesson God wants to teach us!”

As well as scripture readings, the juniors plan on doing community service projects through the club and giving members the opportunities to help out for a good cause.
“These community service projects could include hosting bingo nights, spending time with residents at senior living homes, volunteering at local animal shelters or hospitals and more. We want to go above and beyond with this!” Enthused Kriko.
This past Thursday, the 15th, the club had their first meeting and went over anything members would need to know if they’re interested in joining.
Kriko explained, “Marely and I set up a slideshow talking about what the club is, what we will be doing and how you can get involved! We then ended off with a devotional and read quotes from the Bible. We had discussions with fellow classmates and analyzed the Bible quotes, connecting it back to our lives!”
There are many ways for students to get involved in this new club and there is even an upcoming event happening before the school year ends.
“We have made QR codes to scan if you would like to join the club. We also created a board application for students who want to get involved even more.” Kriko said.
Their first scripture reading is set to be Monday, May 19th in the dance room across from the gym.
