Helping out the community in whatever way possible is the core value of the Interact Club here at WB.
It could be through volunteering or fundraising or just anything to create a positive difference in our community.
Last Saturday, the 17th, hosted a Unity Walk for all to attend.
“The Unity Walk is designed to raise money and awareness for peace. All of our proceeds will go to the Friendship Circle of West Bloomfield which is a nonprofit centered on the development of special needs kids and adults,” explained club board member, Rohin Sharrow.

The Interact Club encourages all to go, hangout, or even chip in to the good cause.
Another board member of the club, Neel Kamath said, “At the Unity Walk, we plan to have lots of fun activities! There will be a sign making contest, a raffle, as well as games like corn hole and spike ball.”
The event is also free for all WBHS students and Interact Club members so students should bring their ID’s for verification to skip the entry fee.
Kamath continued, “Through raffle tickets and sales of the events, people can get involved by spreading the word to anyone who might be interested in coming and donating.”

He added, “Also at the walk we plan to have a symbolic march with all of our signs, in support of the Friendship Circle.”
This Unity Walk is an annual event for the club and really helps to support the community.
Sharrow said, “We won’t have any more big events this school year but next year and hopefully every year after that we’ll pass the club down to underclassmen to continue our legacy.”

Despite the Unity Walk being the last event of the year for the Interact Club, next year everything will come back in full swing again. Any students wanting to participate in the club will have the opportunity to do so.
“The board will be active throughout the summer as we plan events for next year and prepare for Cookies in the Courtyard and Family Fun Night!” Enthused Kamath
Make sure to stop by the track at 2pm on Saturday to connect with the community and help out with a good cause and to check their Instagram, @wbinteract for more info!
