The Gay Straight Alliance, or the GSA, held its first meeting of the school year on September 11. Open to everyone, GSA is a space where LGBTQ+ students and allies can come together to share experiences and promote inclusivity within the school.
Morgan Beimel, one of the club’s student leaders, shared what motivated her to get involved, “I was inspired to join the GSA, coming from personal experience as a queer person,” she explained, “Since I’ve joined, it’s felt like a really safe space.”
For Beimel and many others, the GSA offers more than just a club, it’s a supportive environment where students can express themselves freely and find people who understand their experiences.
“There are a lot of people there that are awesome and have experiences that I can relate to,” Beimel added.
The GSA encourages anyone who is curious or looking for a welcoming community to come by and see what the club is all about.
“Look out for our next meeting.” Beimel says, “It’s gonna be on Thursday in Mr. Kisse’s room. We meet every Thursday, Kisse’s room.”
Stop by room 204 on Thursday, everyone is welcome, whether you’re a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally looking to learn more and show support!
