Where Will You Be in 20 Years?

Seniors Predict and Hope For the Future

Twenty years ago it was 1994. 1994 may not seem like it was that long ago but our world was actually very different. This year’s graduating seniors were not born yet, iPhones and social networking did not exist, the Rwandan Genocide was in effect, Nelson Mandela was elected President of South Africa, Bill Clinton was the President of the United States, Forrest Gump was the Best Picture of the year, Jonathan Taylor Thomas was a teenage heartthrob, and Ace of Base was topping the Billboard Charts. A lot changes in twenty years.

Now look ahead to twenty year from now. The year will be 2034. This year’s graduation seniors will be thirty-eight years old. What will life be like? Scientists predict obesity rates will increase, the US population will become more ethnically diverse, and “driverless cars” could exist. I spoke to some seniors to get their perspective on what they expect their futures to be like.

Aside from that, the important question is, what do you want your life to be in twenty years time? I also asked the seniors what they hope for themselves personally.
