Writing Their Way to Graduation

Seniors write in their notebook of life

Writing Their Way to Graduation

What could be better than sharing your thoughts on your favorite themes and topics with the entire student body? That is exactly what the seniors in the Spectrum club have accomplished. This group of seniors have spent their years in high school finding their voices, sharing their opinions and creativity with their friends, fellow students, teachers and staff members. These students have written articles that fall into many different genres, such as politics, debate, news, and fashion. The departure of these seniors will be especially hard on this high school and their fellow writers of the newspaper. Their articles and short stories have helped shape the perspective of many students. The seniors leaving Spectrum this year have gifted the entire student body with a look at their creativeness and ability to inform students of West Bloomfield High School on important issues. “Seniors have acted as a backbone to new writers of Spectrum. I am sad to say goodbye to part of my Spectrum family,” said Reilly Card, sophomore.

Among the students graduating, Spectrum says goodbye to co-editor, Alison Zywicki, and writers Deja Green, Miranda Hakim, Douglas Husic, Claudia Kassouf, Adrian Oliver, and Jason Pauli. Thank you to the graduating seniors for devoting their time to the newspaper and influencing the students of WBHS with their knowledge and originality. Adrian Oliver said, “Writing for Spectrum was a great experience. I met a great group of people and was able to write about topics that interested me.” Spectrum Advisor and WBHS teacher Ms Marlowe B’sheart said, “Each of the seniors on Spectrum brought something different to our team, to our process and to our product.  I want to thank Alison Zywicki, Deja Green and Claudia Kassouf for two years of contributions to Spectrum.  To each of our seniors, you will truly be missed.  Check in for a guest editorial once in a while from college and beyond!”
