歓迎 Welcome to the Japanese Club!
こんにちは (Hello), come and explore the unique offerings of the West Bloomfield High School Japanese Club. Go surround yourself with the vibrant culture and people who share similar interests.
The Japanese club offers a wide variety of activities to immerse yourself into a new part of the world. You could attend the guest lectures from Japanese professors, go to Japanese events around the community and learn the Japanese traditions. The Japanese Club is also the doorstep to learning the basics of the language and might encourage you to take Japanese as a class. The members get to perform a traditional cultural play in front of an interested audience.
This club also gives you an insight on modern Japanese life. You watch Japanese dramas, play traditional games, and learn the Japanese art of manga. Manga is a long-practiced Japanese comics in which people of all ages read. They cover topics from action, adventure, athletics, and romance. Over the last few years, Manga has gained the attention of people all around the world. One famous example of a manga comic is the “Ghost in the Shell.” Manga have even been created into TV shows for children to enjoy.
One senior, Kyohei Endo, a proud and returning member of the Japanese Club was asked about the club. Kyohei explained, “You try so many new, delicious foods and learn about the culture. You feel as if you are actually in Japan. I recommend many people join.”
When the supervisor of the Japanese Club and WBHS teacher, Mrs. Mitzi Brady, about what the club hoped to achieve, she stated, “The Japanese Club hopes to learn more about the Japanese culture and its people. It is also enjoyable for the students.”
There has not yet been an update on when the Japanese Club meeting are yet. Please contact the club administrator, Mrs. Brady, for more information.
