High school is what you make of it, and the current members of the West Bloomfield High School (WBHS) National Honors Society (NHS) are surely making their high school years count. NHS is a premier organization that recognizes outstanding high school students. It is more than just the honor roll; NHS honors students that show leadership skills both in and out of school. NHS challenges its members to take the time to volunteer in their community and give back. NHS is not only about being a leader and completing community service hours, it is also about building the character that sets them apart from other youth. To become a part of NHS you have to meet the requirements and are only able to be invited as a junior.

Not only is being involved with NHS  an asset on a college application, it also allows students to meet people you would have never met before. Being a part of NHS is a privilege, and students love the feeling they get after helping people. Senior at WBHS Alex McDonough said ,“NHS taught me how to give back to my community while having fun doing it.”

NHS had their first meeting on September 30th, 2014 before school. Every student on NHS is committed and eager to work at everything they do. This year, NHS has an amazing and dedicated group of students involved, and they expect to see great things early in the year. You do not have to be in NHS to get involved with people, you can help out in your community and will make a big difference.
