Tie Dye Friday
Tie Dye brings the school community together!
Walking around West Bloomfield High School (WBHS) on Friday, November 21, 2014 you may have noticed a number of students and staff sporting tie dye attire. This spirit day was put together by Ms. Mara Hoffert, Associate Principal of WBHS. Staff tie dyed t-shirts, and to make it a school wide activity, Hoffert offered a pizza party to the lunch table wearing the most tie dye on Friday November 21st. The winning table in “B” lunch had a pizza party on Monday November 24th.
One of the winners, Freshman Jasmine Shinozaki said “It was really fun wearing tie dye with all my friends to school”. Even though only one table won, it was a contest the whole school enjoyed. Hoffert, who came up with the contest idea said “We are attempting to build a more spirited and cohesive community and environment for students and staff.” This lunch-time spirit day was a great way to end the week before Thanksgiving break. What kind of spirit day would you like to propose?

You had a really good “inverted pyramid” structure, and I was able to easily figure out the main information from the first paragraph. The further you read, the more you learned about the background information as well as the meaning behind the event. You had a good choice of active verbs as well, and got the reader involved in your writing by asking questions. Very well written; I’m proud of you Avani.
