WBHS Hosts Novice Debate States
Read more to find out how WBHS Debate team did in the state tournament!
This year West Bloomfield High School (WBHS) had the opportunity of a lifetime to host the Debate States. WBHS annually hosts a Debate tournament at the beginning of the year; this year we hosted two Debate tournaments. WBHS did a great job hosting this event, and everyone that participated had a great time. Students competed against multiple schools from all different areas. The event took place on December 12th and 13th. MIFA (Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association) Adam Ben-Moche, a Freshman at WBHS and on the Novice Debate team said “It was great representing my school at home this time. I was more comfortable at WBHS than at away schools.” WBHS placed runner up in the tournament and H.H Dow High School won the tournament. The Debate coach, Joel Thursam, teacher at WBHS, said “Essentially it was a home tournament and the Novice team performed well.” Everyone was excited with how WBHS placed in the tournament!
