Signing Off to New Beginnings
February 8, 2016
The Laker Pride was high during the Class of 2016 Signing Day. On February 3, 2016, the iCenter was packed with coaches, family, friends, and many of the West Bloomfield High School (WBHS) administration. It was such an amazing atmosphere filled with tears of joy and happiness. As a result from putting in hard work, dedication, and sacrifice, fourteen athletes were signed. This national occasion is the day that a High School Senior is able to sign their National Letter of Intent to play a sport at the collegiate level. The school that they sign to has to be a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, which is also known as the NCAA. This day made history for WBHS, making it the biggest outcome we have ever had. The athletes who signed are:
Grant Bingham (University of Mount Union, Football)
Brendan Bilkovic (Wayne State University, Baseball)
Justin Clark (University of Toledo , Football)
Evan Foster (Syracuse University, Football)
Ari Goldberg (Concordia University, Football)
Bianca Hoban (Davenport University, Cheer)
Jake Hwier (Madonna University, Lacrosse)
Trishton Jackson (Michigan State University, Football)
Skylar Jeppesen (Cleveland State University, Soccer)
Anthony Kay (University Of Michigan, Football)
Kordell McNeal (Concordia University, Football)
Theo Majette (Kent State University, Football)
Navon Mosley (Purdue University, Football)
Jacob Phillips (Grand Valley State University, Football)
Bianca Hoban, Davenport Cheer commit says, “My future as an athlete is a cheerleader at Davenport University, I will be a base and a back spot on the team. I signed with Davenport because they have one of the best cheerleading programs in all of Michigan. They are also three time national champions in the collegiate level. I think I can contribute my positive attitude and my motivation skills to the team, I always push my teammates to go to their full potential. I have learned so much from the people here in the school and on my teams.”
Congratulations to all of the WBHS students going forward with their successful academic and athletic skills. We wish you the best!
