Laker Sports Line
Week of January 24-30
This week was a relatively light week in terms of Laker sports action
On Thursday, January 28, the varsity boys basketball team went head to head with Bloomfield Hills and lost 63-61, a tough heart breaker. The Lakers were outscored in 2 of the 4 quarters and could not make up the difference. Trishton Jackson (senior) dropped 29 points for the Lakers and Kevin McAdoo (junior) scored 10. The efforts of these two players alone, however, were not enough to help the Lakers come back.
Girls varsity basketball was also involved this week in the outings, first taking the courts versus North Farmington High School on Tuesday the 26. This was not their best game, as they lost 28-69. Charlika Stubbs (senior) lead the Lakers scoring with 11 points. The Lakers used this game as a learning experience and looked to come out strong next game. Friday the 29 was their next opportunity, this time against Harrison High School. Again the Lady Lakers lost, this time only 31-59. They were outscored in 3 of the 4 quarters and could not bounce back despite their efforts. They look to come back strong next week after some practice and a little rest.
This week was one of the few weaker weeks for the Lakers. Come back next week for better results and a new edition of Laker Sports Line!
