A Quote a Day Keeps the Frown Away.. Part 2
A new version of my favorite quotes to spread hope
March 3, 2016
As I have grown, I have encountered many new experiences. To me, the definition of winning means that you have gained something that you did not have before. I win from learning new things and having a positive outcome in that particular situation. Learning from your mistakes always makes you a winner in my book. So, these 3 quotes are ones that I truly stick by on a daily basis, to not only encourage me, but to have hope for my new future that is rapidly approaching. Again, I encourage you (students and staff) to share a quote that has increased your confidence and hope for a better day.
The first quote is my absolute favorite. Audre Lourde said, “When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid”. New things and opportunities are coming my way as I approach the last days of my High School career. But there is no need to fear. I remind myself that I am strong and I know what I am capable of, which is greatness. It actually makes me more excited to walk into what is coming my way. That is always an amazing feeling.
Next is, “This too shall pass.” This well known quote is referred in a biblical scripture found in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18. It conveys a message that whatever you are going through in your life, it is not forever. The things you can see, are the temporary factors in your life. Yet, what you can not see, is what lasts forever. No bad situation is ever permanent, it is just up to you to change your life and make the negative a positive. With faith, everything is possible,
Last but not least, my final quote is, “Pause and remember— Every single event in your life, especially the difficult lessons, have made you smarter, stronger, and wiser than you were yesterday. Be thankful!” This was beautifully written by Jenni Young in her book, Difficult Lesson Make You Wiser. I closed with this quote because it shows so much strength. As life goes on, we learn and we grow. It is the best thing about life. Knowing that things will not be perfect, but will soon add to the great lessons learned along the way. Instead of being sad, I have learned to love all the negative and the positive. In reality, it only makes me the better person in the end.
In conclusion, life has so much to bring. Through all of the ups and downs I encourage everyone to stay strong, positive, and hopeful. So please share with me: what quote inspires you?
