This week on Laker Sports Line

Boys basketball had two games this week, the first against  Detroit Osborn, which ultimately resulted in a 69-76 loss. Monday’s Game had three top scorers, Kevin McAdoo (junior) with 23 points, Trishton Jackson (senior) who dropped 22, and Davion Johnson (junior) with 12. These three players were not enough to propel the Lakers forward, and they lost this first game of the week. Their second game was on Friday versus Bloomfield Hills, and this game had a better outcome. The Lakers won 63-56 with the help of Jackson scoring 25, McAdoo dropping 12, Tre Harvey (sophomore) with 12, and Johnson scoring 8 points. This game went much better for the Lakers and they hope to continue this strong play to gain more wins for the final few matches of the regular season before playoffs.

Girls basketball participated this week as well, competing in one game. The game was against North Farmington on Tuesday. The Lady Lakers lost 51-43, with Mazey Kyriakoza (senior) and Charlika Stubbs (senior) both scoring 12. Overall, the game was filled with struggles for both teams, however the Lakers suffered more, and it cost them.

Varsity hockey, like boys basketball, had two games this week. The first was a 1-4 loss versus Bloomfield United. The only goal was scored by Cam Dickinson, (senior) who was the team leader in a majority of the stats for WB. It was a close game for a while, but in the third period, Bloomfield managed to score 3 goals, taking the win. They also lost their second game of the week 1-4 to Team Alliance and Alec Rinaldi (senior) scored the only goal.

This week was filled with more losses than wins, and as the winter sports season comes to an end, West Bloomfield wishes it had gone a different way. With the spring season approaching, Laker Sports Line will be covering baseball, boys and girls lacrosse, girls soccer, and girls softball. Make sure to come back next week for more Laker Sports Line!
