Lady Lakers for the Win
On Monday, April 15, 2016, the West Bloomfield High School (WBHS) Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team enjoyed their first win of the season. Up until their game against Rochester Adams High School, the team has struggled to make a name for themselves. The first five games they played resulted in losses by an average of 12 points. However, on April 15 they managed to pull themselves together and win against Rochester Adams High School with a final score of 14-13.
The game started out with a quick goal by the WBHS team. For the following ten minutes the score bounced back and forth between the two teams In the middle of the first half, Rochester Adams went on a run and scored several goals, but WBHS pulled together a strong defense and ended up evening the score again. The second half was a long struggle between the two teams, both fighting to end up as the team on top. With sixty seconds left, the score was 14-13 and Kate Froling (‘17) from WBHS managed to jog around with the ball, successfully running down the clock and securing a West Bloomfield victory.
While the first few games of the season ended up in losses, the first win of the year promises to inspire some hope and determination in the WBHS Girls Lacrosse Teams, both JV and Varsity.
