The West Bloomfield High School Varsity football team competed against Lake Orion Friday, September 9th at 7:00 pm. This was their third game and second home game of the season. The game began with a quick touchdown by Lake Orion. However, don’t be fooled, the Lakers soon hastened their comeback and secured the win, ending the game with a score of 37-7.
Before the game, Spectrum staff spoke with a few members of the opposing team, in hopes to learn about how they prepared to defeat a team that was 9-1 last year. Unfortunately, Lake Orion players had no comment for Spectrum reporters.
Though the opposing team took the lead in the beginning of the game, the Lakers dominated the field throughout the night. Nikon Katibat, back-up kicker, was put to the test after just three days of practice. Other than the single touchdown that started the game, the Varsity defense was able to keep Lake Orion from scoring throughout the game.
The Lakers took over the field and dominated with an ending score of 37-7. This team is “ready to represent our school and show others what we are capable of. This is going to be an amazing season and we can not wait to share our victory with the school,” said Domenik Vulaj, starter on the Varsity Football team.
Varsity Football is excited to bring home many wins this season, and continue the legacy they began last year. Great Job Lakers!
