Everyone has their favorite activities or places to go in the fall, but sometimes people don’t know the best things to do. If someone needs help figuring out fall activities, they can come here. First, I wanted to see what students thought were the most fun fall activities, “My favorite place to go to in fall is definitely the Cider Mill, it’s super pretty, the food is good, and the activities are fun.” Said Sarah Holdsworth. The Cider Mill is such an awesome place. It’s in Franklin and the line for donuts or cider usually stretches to the parking lot! It’s open from 8am to 6pm and you can go to the Cider Mill until the first weekend after Thanksgiving. You can not only eat donuts and drink cider, but you can watch the cider being made, and walk into a giant area with a water wheel. A beautiful river stretches across the Cider Mill and the view makes the food even better.
Let’s hear from some other students about what they think is the best fall activity. “The same as Sarah.” Julianne Garcia said. Hmm, okay, what about another student’s perspective? “My favorite place is going to the Cider Mill too because there are many fun outdoor activities to do and it’s a good time for the whole family.” Said Sela Kubiak. Okay, well we know what people love the most. Yes, the Cider Mill is awesome and fun, but let’s explore some of the other equally if not more fun options.
For example, the Long’s Family, Orchard, Farm, and Cider Mill which even though it has ‘Cider Mill’ in the name, is so much more than that. Long’s Farm is in Commerce, and is open daily for all to attend from 9am to 6pm.
They have cider, donuts, pumpkins, honey, honeycrisp apples, and more! Specifically, their corn maze is open Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 10am to the last tickets being sold at 5pm. Their barn will remain open through the day before thanksgiving, November 27th.
Another super fun and underrated activity to do in the fall is Erebus. This is more directed tonHalloween but is still fun if you like a fright. Erebus Haunted House is in Pontiac and is not recommended for kids under the age of 13. A demon nurse will laugh in a crazy voice or a zombie will come up to you and try to be your friend. Anything can happen there and if you are okay with jumpscares, Erebus is the place for you. This activity is a little bit unconventional compared to the previously mentioned family friendly fun, but is super exciting nonetheless. Erebus is open seasonally for Halloween but still goes on a little bit into November so there is still time to go. Check their website for their hours!
Finally, there’s another super fun fall activity. Treerunner! Treefunner is a ropes course in West Bloomfield and is open the whole year. But, When the leaves start to change colors, they come out with many fall-themed events to do there. There’s many different nights, Pumpkin nights, Glow nights, and wizarding world nights at Treerunner. The lighting becomes festive and so does the music. You can climb through the orange trees and leaves and take home some halloween candy too. These events are definitely fun for the whole family and can happen at any range of times on the weekends or weekdays.
Overall, it may seem like fall can just be spent studying at home or going to the Cider Mill everyday. There are so many more fun options near WB. No matter if you want family fun or a spook, there will be something for you!
