Make It Count
The seniors of Math Club say their final goodbyes!
This year was another successful one in West Bloomfield High School (WBHS) Math Club! Their last meeting was Tuesday, May 19th. They have accomplished a lot over the past year and will soon experience some rough good byes as the seniors graduate. This last meeting of the year was held to determine who will take over positions when the seniors leave. The seniors in the club are Rupin Balabhadra, Gabe Villa, Charlie Tobin, Katy Lau, Cheng Jiang, Anthony Chen, and Giuliana Herrera. The club would not have been the same without all of their contributions.
“We had a lot of fun this year and I’m glad it was a success,” states Villa. Math tutoring was just one of the roles the club took on. During lunches and after school on Thursdays they helped students who needed it. They also met a few times each month to discuss math problems from different magazines. Their biggest accomplishment by far was being accepted into Mu Alpha Theta. This is a national high school and two-year college mathematics honor society. Mu Alpha Theta holds all sorts of concerts and grants, so it is a great honor to be a part of this.
The seniors have been a part of the club for years and it will not be the same without them. The club’s director, Suzan Karmo says, “I am very proud of them and all of the effort they have put into the club. I wish them the best.” A big thank you goes out to Karmo because without her, the success of Math Club would not be possible!
Good luck in college…we know we can count on you!
