On Thursday, February 11, 2016 the West Bloomfield High School students from the  Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association (MIFA) team hosted a dinner theater event in the auditorium. They presented the play Cinders by Janusz Glowacki which is originally written in Polish. While most of the play followed the original script, the ending of the play had to be changed due to sensitive material. In the original play, the main character, Cinderella, kills herself. While the play ending was rewritten for dinner theater, they were allowed to keep the original ending during the MIFA festivals. MIFA festivals are the times when high schools across Michigan compete for the honor of winning the state level competition. Winning states is a huge honor for high schools which makes competition fierce.

Before the event, parents and family of MIFA members hosted a dinner which anyone could enjoy for a small fee. After the event there were treats such as cupcakes, brownies, and candy for people to enjoy. They also hosted a silent auction to raise money for the MIFA company. People talked with friends and played hacky sack while participating in the silent auction.

Unfortunately for the West Bloomfield MIFA team, they lost regionals by a single point and did not advance to the state level of competition.
