The varsity hockey team was on the ice Wednesday, February 10, unfortunately losing 2-5 to Walled Lake Northern. Cam dickinson (senior) sniped a power play goal off of a pass from Ian McDonald (senior) for their first goal of the night. Alec Rinaldi (junior) could have scored 2 goals, but one was determined not a goal as the net had come off of the post. He later scored, this time counting, off of an assist from Dickinson. However, the Lakers could not hold on to their lead, letting up 4 goals in the third period.

The boys varsity basketball team absolutely crushed Avondale High School on the 11, finishing with a final of 62-37. The Lakers outscored their opponents every quarter and did not let up. Their leading scores were Tre Harvey (sophomore) with 13 points, Trishton Jackson (senior) with 16, and Kevin McAdoo (junior) with 12. every player had playing time and seven others were able to score, helping the Lakers gain yet another victory.

Girls varsity basketball squared off against Bloomfield Hills, beating them in a very close game, 39-35 on February 12. The Lady Lakers had several top performers, including Charlika Stubbs (senior) with 10 [points and 7 assists, Taylor Pierce (senior) with 8 points and 9 rebounds, and Mazey Kyriakoza (senior) who scored 10 points off the bench. Overall, it was a very successful game for the Lakers, with lots of hustle and lots of intensity.

This week was pretty exciting and we look for more of this. Make sure to come back next week for more Laker Sports Line!
