The Met Gala is one of the biggest fashion shows in the world and captivates an audience to take a peek into celebrity life.
Looking at the extravagant outfits and hearing about the new theme each year is a staple of May and the glitz and glam of the event at the MET garners a big audience.
This year, some students at WB have things to say about the outfits based on the gala’s theme ‘Black Dandyism.’

Junior, Namya Garg said, “I thought the outfits this year were the most cohesive to the theme! It was really cool to see how everyone interpreted Black tailored clothing too.”
On the other hand, Junior, Sarina Khatchadourian said, “ I feel like the outfits were a little boring. I feel like because the theme was tailored, people couldn’t be super extra.”
Whether WB student’s thought the theme was interesting or not, they definitely had certain outfits they loved, and certain outfits they didn’t.

“I really loved Caleb Mclaughlins outfit. I loved him in Stranger Things and he definitely showed up.” Said Junior, Abraya Spitsbergen.
She added, “I also thought that Emma Chamberlain’s look was so awesome and I love her bleached hair. It just looks so cool.”
The Met Gala has a very strict no phones policy so the only way to see the celebs is on the red carpet before they actually go into the MET.

Garg described, “Hailey Bieber’s outfit was my least favorite because it was just pretty boring and didn’t try too hard to match the theme.”
Some celebs went for a more minimalistic, tailored approach and others went more out of the box and added unique designs to their outfits.
“Teyana Taylor’s outfit was really cool and she looked like a full movie character! It reminded me of the villain from Tiana.” Said Khatchadourian.
The Met Gala had a theme they had never explored before this year and no matter what student’s liked or disliked, unique choices were made.
“I really liked the Met Gala theme this year because it was different from anything I’ve seen in years before. It was cool to see a new type of outfit for the celebs to wear.” Spitsbergen said.
