Strive for the Goal at the end of the Field

The field hockey team began practicing for its 2013 season in August of 2013. The girls field hockey season kicked off on September 21st, 2013 against Dearborn High School. The 2013 season did not go as well for the girls field hockey team as they envisioned. They had 7 losses and 0 wins. The season ended in October. The team played 7 games against other high school teams. The team is coached by Emily Figueroa. Seniors on the team include Hridaya Rao, Olivia Sax, Teodora Lazar, Elizabeth Mansoor, Laudan Emami, Lexi Cook, and Audrey Goldstein. Goldstein said, “When the going got tough, the tough got going.” “It was really cool to be a part of the very first field hockey team at West Bloomfield High school. It was a great way to meet new friends and learn about a new sport,” added Cook.

On Wednesday, October 9th, 2013, the field hockey team hosted a fundraiser at The Lodge Grill and Bar in Keego Harbor. Every purchase, accompanied by a certificate from the team, resulted in 20% of the purchase price being donated to the field hockey team.
