A Quote a Day Keeps the Frown Away

Whether it is about girl power, education, relationships, or life itself, there are many inspirational quotes that help to push teens forward. I encourage everyone to add their favorite quote in the comments and tell us why or how it inspires you so you can encourage someone else and put a smile on their face.

The first few quote that get me through every day are from the TV show “Being Mary Jane”.  The first one is “Everything that you are going through is preparing you for what you asked for.” This simply lets me know that the life we live may not always go as planned, and not all of us are good at accepting that. But the sooner we appreciate the life we live and allow it to take its course, the better things will be. We go through things everyday to make us stronger, smarter, kinder, and most importantly more appreciative. It is all for the best so continue to stay strong.

My second quote from “Being Mary Jane” is, “When you feel like quitting, think about why you started.” I always apply this quote to my life. There are always goals that we want to achieve in life. Some are greater than others. The closer we get to achieving our goals challenges we often face become “too difficult”  or “not what you expected.”  However, if it is important to you,  remember two things. Not only the reason why you started, but also what you want your life to be after you accomplish your goals. It will help to lift you up and help to push through.

Lastly, from the same show, “Stay grateful even while going through life’s worst storms.” As life goes on and we try to move forward, we always forget the positive things. Life itself is so precious and there are many things to be thankful for. Being sad and not appreciating the good only makes the situation worse. Do not allow your bad times to turn into a pity party. Allowing negativity from bad experiences can not only alter your life for the worst, but those experiences could also lead you to dwell on the negative all the time. Never let the hard times outweigh the amazing times.

My last quote is from Maya Angelou: “If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”  To learn to love yourself, and really be yourself, especially in this society, is the real triumph.  None of us are really “normal,” and all of us can be “amazing.”
