Lakers go all out when it comes to supporting our football team. Every game, we dress up according to a chosen theme. We come ready to yell all of our signature chants. On September 14, the Lakers traveled to the home of the Blackhawks, decked out in all black. BHHS wanted to show us up as best student section, so they decided to come wearing white. The away stands were packed with excited Lakers. It’s weird to see more away fans than home fans at a game, but that just goes to show why we are deserving of the title of number one student section in Michigan. “It’s really cool to see the whole school come together and support the boys.” says Vidhi Pandya, junior.

As for the game, tensions were high. BHHS (known as our little sister), is certainly one of our biggest rivals. The Lakers came out strong with a 64 yard touchdown pass from CJ Harris to Trey Mosley. With another pass from Harris, McCano Hayes scored another touchdown for the Lakers, causing us to lead BHHS 14-0 in the first quarter. The boys continued to dominate the field. As of halftime the score was 34-7. The Lakers didn’t slow down during the second half and continued to play hard. “The game was super exciting, everyone was standing up and cheering the whole time.” Dhiya Krupashankar, junior, tells me. With a safety to end the game, the final score was Wb 50- BH 7. Way to go Lakers!
