As the sailing team ends their fall season, members of the team look back and reflect on their accomplishments so far. It was a little over a year ago that sailing team was trying to become a team. Although the dream started out in a small group, they now have 15 members with eight high schoolers and seven middle schoolers. When talking to the team, they explained it was not just about the sailing, but the opportunity to travel around the state and other states nearby. This year the team went to Traverse City, Grand Haven, Grosse Pointe, Spring Lake, Grand Rapids, Grosse Isle, and even Ohio and Chicago. Their successes this year included taking 2nd place at the Tier 2 Shepherd Regatta in Chicago, taking 4th in the Tier 2 Cherry Festival Invite in Ohio, and taking part in the Cressy National Qualifier. The sailing team did great this season. After the cold winter, they will begin their spring season in late March.
