Balancing everything in life can be hard, especially for women who juggle work, family, and personal goals. My mom, Paige Rogers, knows that struggle well. She handles her responsibilities with strength, patience, and humor, and her story can teach a lot to young women like us who are learning how to balance everything in our own lives.
When I asked her what keeps her motivated, she said it’s knowing that the busy seasons of life don’t last forever. She told me, “It’s not going to last forever, you know, having to take care of you guys.” That mindset helps her stay focused and grateful, even when things get stressful. It’s a reminder to stay patient and look at the bigger picture, which I think a lot of us at school can relate to when life gets overwhelming.
My mom admitted that it’s not always easy to balance everything. She said, “It’s hard. I just try to find time to spend with you all and also do things I like to do for myself.” Whether it’s taking a walk, watching a show, or doing something small that makes her happy, she always finds little ways to recharge. That’s something we can all learn from, especially when school and life start to feel like too much.
When I asked her about challenges, she said, “Every day is difficult, but it comes with the territory of being a parent.” That made me think about how no matter what stage of life you’re in, there will always be tough days. For us students, it might be long school days, homework, or balancing jobs, but her words show that challenges are a part of growing and learning.
The biggest message she said she wants to pass on is to be resilient. She told me, “Go through the hard storms.” That stuck with me because it reminds me not to give up when things get hard. I think a lot of girls at our school can relate to that, especially those trying to figure out how to handle school, work, and their personal lives all at once.
When I asked how she stays positive, she smiled and said, “I just make sure I laugh and find the good in things. Even when I have to joke about the bad stuff, it helps a little.” That attitude shows how important it is to keep a sense of humor and look for small positives, even on the hardest days.
My mom’s story is a reminder that balance doesn’t mean having everything perfect. It means finding peace in the middle of everything that’s going on. Her strength inspires me every day, and I think her advice can inspire other young women at our school too, to stay strong, be patient with themselves, and keep finding the good in life.
