Lately, it feels like everyone at West Bloomfield High School is talking about hair in cosmetology. Students, athletes, and people are just trying to keep their hair healthy in Michigan’s weather. So over the past month, I started using Mielle’s Rosemary Mint scalp and hair straightening oil to see if it actually works. I wanted something for dryness and breakage, and this product keeps popping up everywhere in TikTok shops, store shelves, and even conversations in cosmetology class since it’s something I’ve been using recently. It makes sense as the topic for WBHS students because hair care is a real thing here and not just something people pretend to care about.
After using it consistently, I actually ended up liking it more than I expected. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight it feels. A lot of oil sits on top of your hair and makes it look greasy instantly, but with this one absorbed pretty well. The minty smell and the cooling feeling of my scalp is a bonus, and it makes my hair feel fresh, especially when I use it at night. It didn’t feel as dry, and overall, my hair looks shiny and healthier. Honestly, another thing I liked was that it did not make my hair feel heavy. Some oils build up fast and make your hair feel dirty the next day, but this one did not do that. My hair still felt clean and soft even when I used it more than once a week. The smell was nice too. It is strong at first, but it fades in a clean way that does not bother you or feel like too much.
But it’s not perfect if you use too much, your hair will look greasy. You really only need a little bit, and even though it works great on curling your hair, I don’t think it will be the best option for someone with straight hair because it might weigh their hair down. It’s also not the cheapest product out there, so I’ll see why people hesitate before buying it. Still, for WBHS students, I think this is something a lot of people would care about. We have a diverse mix of hair types at our school, and a lot of us deal with dryness, breakage, protective styles, or trying to keep her healthy during sports season. Products like this matter, especially for anyone who wants to take care of their hair without doing too much.
After using it for a month, it helped with dryness and overall hair health. I’m not going to act like it made my hair grow overnight, but it did make it feel stronger. The best results came from when I used it on my scalp at the end of my hair a few times a week. I also noticed that my hair just felt easier to work with overall. Detangling wasn’t as annoying, and my ends didn’t feel as rough when I ran my fingers through my hair. Even on the days I didn’t style my hair, it still looked a little healthier instead of dry or dull looking. It wasn’t a dramatic change, but it was enough that I could actually tell the difference when I skipped a few days when doing it into my routine
Overall, I’d recommend Mielle’s Rosemary mint oil to anyone who wants healthier, softer hair, as long as they don’t overuse it. It smells good, it works, and it’s easy to add to your routine for WBHS students who care about hair care or dealing with dryness. Plus, I feel like it really gives your hair a little extra shine without feeling greasy, which is very good because I personally’ve felt that oils being too heavy. Even after a few uses, I noticed my hair felt smoother and more manageable, which makes styling way easier. Honestly, it just makes your hair feel healthier overall, and that’s why I think it’s such a good choice.
