Longs Family Orchard & Farm has been a longstanding family business for generations. The current owners are Rob and Chris Long. Together, the mission is to bring light to Michiganders every Autumn season. A business like this one runs efficiently with their hours being 9 a.m to 6 p.m daily. Longs has made the cool autumn days worth being filled by showcasing the bright colors and cozy aspects of the season. The transition from Summer to Autumn is not easy but Longs has created ease and excitement to all. The visuals of the natural phenomenon like the color change of the leaves, the pumpkins harvesting, and the apples sprouting make it worth taking a look at and if it takes more to convince, Longs is also a good stop to make when craving a sweet Autumn treat.
Longs is not like any other cidermill in Michigan; for instance contenders like Blakes, or Big Red’s, these businesses could not reach or excel the joy brought by Longs. For a cider mill like Longs, the welcoming atmosphere deserves a 4.2 out of 5 stars. Longs has always been a family first business meaning the staff’s priority is always the customers, who become viewed as family. The serene and uplifting atmosphere also brings the presence of home with the warmth vibes because of the beautiful nature the place endures. The visit takes away any stress or anxiety that may occur during a regular school or work day because of the tranquility, it also gives a chance to take a break from all the screens. Best believe it there is something for everyone to enjoy from exploring the “Longs Family Fun” to picking vegetables in the garden.
There is quite a special story behind the development of the business. It all started six generations ago. They remain sticking to their roots, get it, the roots of the vegetables, furthermore they follow the path that was led out for them.
As was mentioned earlier, the other cider mills do not reach the standards Long’s fulfill because the relationship between the staff and customers is incomparable. This cider mill has been the spot for many families for years going and they encourage others along with their children and grand-children as there are multiple activities for everyone to take part in. This cider mill offers freshly picked produce that is guaranteed for each customer. The seasonal cider, donuts, and other goods are all a great offer you can not resist especially while watching your kids take part in the activities. They offer field trips to schools all around the community, likewise Dublin Elementary school has made yearly trips. All these positives that were listed out have been referenced multiple times by their customers.
For many people when they think of Autumn they also come to the realization of a new routine to swing into, and sometimes it can become difficult to transition from Summer to Autumn. A great way to realise that built up emotion and anxiety is taking the opportunity to go outdoors, and admire the Autumn feels because for many it goes by fast. Could not agree more that the best place to go is the cider mill where there are so many Autumn traditions.
If you are ever worried about whether you will find something to enjoy at Longs there is no doubt you can not find something in your range. Recently the business had shaped their new corn maze in tribute to the Detroit Lion football team. They offer an assortment of apples to pick as well as vegetables in the harvest. For families they have rides, and games to check out. At the back they have their petting zoo and playground. They have so much more to visit but a lot of people enjoy the shop with all the homemade goods like jams, custom drinks, cider, bread, even treats for the dogs.
However, with all those amazing aspects, I noticed the flaws the business has, even though the bakery has so many appetizing items you can not help but notice the charge for the items, for a jar of apple spread they would $16.00 even for a serving to only last 3 weeks at most. Not only the prices but the business only accepts cards, I found this a flaw because for some they might prefer to carry cash. Though the intention was to make checkout move quicker if one were to check out an item they might not assume the business is card only, especially for it being a barn.
Closing off I would not let any of these cons stop you from visiting but I would keep it in consideration. You will definitely enjoy yourself and just maybe you will make this your family’s tradition to stop by in season. The experience added to the Autumn joy by stopping by at Longs right in Commerce Township. Also do not forget to invite friends and family.
